Before anything is priced we work through the site and how you want to use it — access, levels, drainage, materials, what stays and what goes. On design projects that runs to a detailed written brief, so nothing important is decided by assumption.
Every element priced separately — paving, base, drainage, stone, planting, labour, disposal. If one line is more than you expected, you can see it, and we can change the spec, stage the work, or remove it.
You get a link to your own proposal page — scope, materials, options and pricing in one place you can share with your partner, your architect or your builder, rather than a PDF buried in an email thread.
A number hides
the decisions.
When a landscaping quote is one figure, you cannot tell which part of the job is expensive. You cannot tell whether the price went up because of the stone, the excavation, the access or the drainage. And you cannot make a sensible trade-off, because there is nothing to trade off against.
That is also how corners get cut. If the base preparation and drainage are invisible in the price, they are the easiest things to quietly reduce to win the job — and they are exactly the things that fail two years later.
Itemising it means the conversation is about the work rather than the number. It is slower to prepare. We think it is the honest way to do it.
